Your terminology sounds like it is coming from TV Land. Megapixels? Let's say you want to create a 5m x 4m @ 300ppi ( i.e., high resolution ). I would suggest you abandon Photoshop in favor of a page layout program where you can scale the file down to a manageable size. Why are you forcing high resolution in such a large file? Many large format or grand format printers only need around 72-100ppi image resolution at 100% final size. So, a 25% scaled file of 1.25m x 1m @ 400ppi is do-able in Photoshop. Or, set up the 1.25x1m file in Illustrator and Place the 400ppi image(s) and then have the RIP scale the file 400%? What the heck is the resolution of your megapixel file?
